Felt has a very particular texture. It is soft but rough at the same time. Color, texture, appearance and feel differ and the material can easily seem new. My exploration has focused on patterns and texture research, while also investigating the color potential PET felt offers. Working with the same material and technique does not guarantee the same response in all tests, as they suddenly become new pieces, entirely different from one another, when the color of the sample, or even the scale of the pattern varies. With this piece I have curated a composition that compiles some of the samples and explains my material research through cutting, engraving and playing with the contrast of colors and texture the material can offer.
