An experimental material research showing the soft and delicate qualities PET felt can have. To reach the materials’ purest and most flexible form, I brushed sheets of felt with a hand carder, loosening the compact structure. This leads to lightweight fragments which stick together when heated, creating a soft and fluffy appearance. Since this method involves the breakdown into small pieces, all In-Zee’s rest material could be repurposed into soft, bouncy and airy structures. Fundamentally, this technique transforms the rough and robust material into a squishy, soft and playful, yet firm core.
