Lathe turning is a unique technique that inspired me to link my project to it. Because the material itself had a fascinating texture and color, I wanted to retain those two components visible in my prototypes. However, in order to control the material as I wanted, I needed to prepare it using three separate techniques prior to turning. First, cut circles by using a laser cutter, then heat press them (together if possible), and last glue the loose parts. The turning was successful when the final material was prepared, and I was able to produce abstract shapes with playful colors to them.
